The Risks of Smoking
Scientific evidence shows that cigarette smoking is the greatest single cause of illness and premature death in the UK - but we already know that, so why do we continue to smoke when we know the risks?
Why did we start? Why do we continue after that first awful puff? Why can’t we stop? This is because our subconscious mind has been programmed by advertising and false self-programming to believe that “It’s difficult to stop” “I need it” “It helps me cope with stress”. In fact smoking is a major cause of anxiety and depression.

Hypnotherapy is different from other therapies in that it is drug free, there is no physical manipulation and the conscious mind, with its anxious or analytical thoughts, is bypassed. It is the conscious mind which can often hinder the success of other forms of psychological work such as counselling or psychotherapy.

Using the tool of hypnosis the therapist guides the client into a relaxed state enabling direct access to their subconscious mind. This is where our instinctive behaviour patterns and natural reactions are formed. Using positive suggestion and imagery the therapist is able to focus on the behaviours that the client wishes to change.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a safe, powerful technique creating a deeply relaxed state of the body, mind and emotions. It is also a perfectly natural state that we are often in during our everyday lives; e.g. whilst reading a book, watching television, or doing repeated tasks.
The therapist guides you into a relaxed trance state by the sound of their voice. It is not sleep. In this relaxed state the subconscious mind accepts suggestions to promote and reinforce positive messages.
Is it safe?
No-one can be hypnotised against their will and even when in trance people can still reject any of the suggestions given if they are not appropriate.
